Use Mobicip across all devices with emphasis on Android, Kindle, and Chromebooks
What is Mobicip? It’s a device filtering and monitoring service
Cost: there’s a free version, and also premium for $39.99/year for 5 devices
Supported platforms: iOS, Android, Chromebook, Mac, PC, Kindle
Suitable ages: we find that Mobicip works best for elementary through middle school. It can become a bit too restrictive for trustworthy middle school kids. Which is a good transition to Forcefield.
Strengths: it’s filter is very strong at all three levels, which is why we recommend it for young internet users. It also has a really unique feature by blocking inappropriate thumbnail images if using YouTube.com through the Mobicip browser. Although Google has now released Family Link to greatly improve supervision over Chromebooks, if a parent desires to have one platform that monitors all devices at once, including iOS, Chromebooks, Android devices, and Kindles, then Mobicip can do that.
